Wave is a free accounting software for small businesses with optional paid features. Managing your Wave invoices is essential for tracking paid service costs like payments processing and payroll. This guide will show you how to access and download invoices from your Wave account.

Prerequisites

You need to be the account owner or have access to Wave paid services to view invoices.

Sign in to Wave

Access your Wave account:

  1. Go to waveapps.com/login
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Enter your password
  4. Access your Wave dashboard

Access Settings

Navigate to account settings:

  1. Click on your business name (top left)
  2. Select "Settings" from dropdown
  3. Or click profile icon and choose settings
  4. Look for billing or subscription options

Note: Wave accounting is free. Invoices only apply to paid services like Payments or Payroll.

Navigate to Billing

Find billing section:

  1. In Settings, click on "Billing" or "Payments"
  2. Or select specific paid service (Wave Payments, Payroll)
  3. View your active services
  4. See payment processing fees or payroll charges

Check Email for Invoices

Email invoice delivery:

  1. Wave sends invoices/receipts via email
  2. Search inbox for "Wave invoice" or "Wave receipt"
  3. Check emails from notifications@waveapps.com
  4. Receipts for payroll or processing fees

  1. For Wave Payments: go to "Sales & Payments"
  2. Click on "Transactions" or "History"

Tip: Wave Payments charges per-transaction fees (2.9% + $0.60 for credit cards), not monthly subscriptions.

Common Issues & Solutions

No invoices for free services

Wave Accounting is completely free - no invoices. You only get invoices/receipts for paid services like Wave Payments processing fees or Wave Payroll.

Processing fees not subscription

Wave Payments charges per-transaction fees, not monthly subscriptions. Check transaction history for individual processing fee receipts.

Missing email receipts

Check spam/junk folders. Ensure notifications@waveapps.com is not blocked. Update email preferences in Wave settings to receive all receipts.

Payroll vs Payments billing

Wave Payroll and Wave Payments bill separately. Payroll is monthly subscription; Payments is per-transaction. Check appropriate section for each.
