Help Scout is a customer service platform designed to help support teams. Managing your Help Scout invoices is essential for tracking customer support software expenses. This guide will show you how to access and download invoices from your Help Scout account.

Prerequisites

You need Owner access to your Help Scout account to view billing information and download invoices.

Sign in to Help Scout

Access your Help Scout account:

  1. Go to secure.helpscout.net/authentication/login
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Enter your password
  4. Access your Help Scout dashboard

Access Manage Menu

Navigate to account management:

  1. Click "Manage" in the top navigation
  2. Or click your profile icon and select "Manage"
  3. You'll see organization settings
  4. Look for billing options

Navigate to Billing

Find billing section:

  1. In Manage menu, click "Billing"
  2. View your current plan details
  3. See number of users and features
  4. Look for billing history or invoices

View Billing History

Access your invoices:

  1. Click on "Billing history" tab
  2. See list of all past payments
  3. Each shows date, amount, and status
  4. Filter by date range if needed

Note: Invoices show subscription charges for all users.

Download Invoice PDF

Get your billing documents:

  1. Find the invoice you want to download
  2. Click "Download" or PDF icon
  3. Invoice downloads as PDF file

Manage Subscription

Update billing information:

  1. In Billing section, update payment method
  2. Edit billing contact details

Common Issues & Solutions

Can't access billing settings

Only account Owners can access billing. Contact your Help Scout account owner to grant owner permissions or request they download the invoices.

Trial period invoices

Free trial periods don't generate invoices. Billing starts after the trial ends when the first payment is processed.

Beacon or Docs add-on invoices

If you use Beacon (chat widget) or Docs separately, they're included in your main subscription invoice with itemized charges.

Missing recent invoices

Invoices are generated on your billing date. Check your subscription details to see when the next invoice will be issued.
