DigitalOcean is a cloud infrastructure provider offering virtual servers (Droplets), managed databases, and more. Managing your DigitalOcean invoices is essential for tracking cloud infrastructure expenses. This guide will show you how to access and download invoices from your DigitalOcean account.
Prerequisites
You need Owner or billing permissions to view billing information and download DigitalOcean invoices.
Sign in to DigitalOcean
Access your DigitalOcean account:
- Go to cloud.digitalocean.com/login
- Enter your email address
- Enter your password
- Complete two-factor authentication if enabled
Access Account Menu
Navigate to account settings:
- Click on your avatar/profile in the top right
- Select "Billing" from the dropdown
- Or look for "Settings" then "Billing"
- You'll see billing dashboard
Navigate to Billing
Access billing section:
- You'll land on Billing overview page
- See your current month-to-date usage
- View payment method and balance
- Look for billing history or invoices
View Billing History
Access invoice records:
- Click on "Billing History" tab
- See list of all past invoices
- Each shows date, amount, and status
- Filter by date range if needed

Download Invoice PDF
Get your billing documents:

Manage Payment Method
Update billing information:
- In Billing section, update payment method

Can't access billing
Only account owners or users with billing permissions can access billing. Contact your team owner to grant billing access.
Team billing vs personal
If you're on a team account, billing is managed at the team level. Access the team billing section, not personal account billing.
Understanding hourly vs monthly billing
DigitalOcean charges hourly for resources but caps at monthly rate. Invoices show total monthly usage. Deleted resources show prorated charges.
Credits and invoice amounts
If you have promotional credits, they're applied to invoices automatically. The invoice shows gross amount minus credits for net charge.
