Common Issues & Solutions
Don't have access to Billing Dashboard
If you're using an IAM user account, you need specific billing permissions. Ask your AWS account administrator to grant you IAM permissions for 'ViewBilling' and 'ViewAccount' actions.
Bills show $0 or no charges
If you're in the AWS Free Tier or haven't used any services, you won't see charges. Also, current month charges may not be finalized until the billing period closes.
Can't download PDF invoice
Ensure you're viewing a closed billing period (previous months). Current month invoices are only available after the month ends. Check your browser's pop-up blocker settings.
Invoice shows charges I don't recognize
Use the Cost Explorer to drill down into specific service charges. Check for resources in all AWS regions. Some services have data transfer or storage costs that accumulate over time.
